As an online faculty member of the University of Phoenix, Nan Newcomb is responsible for teaching accounting, developing curriculum for students, addressing account debits, challenging students through question and answer sessions, teaching online, grading tests, implementing computer system analysis, and handling ledgers and account reconciliations. She became involved in her profession after being motivated by her aunt, an accountant. She attributes her success to her passion for learning, working with numbers and facing challenges.
Ms. Newcomb received her master's degree in accounting from Colorado Technical University in 2008, her bachelor's degree in finance from Colorado Technical University in 2006, and her associate degree in accounting from Franklin Pierce University in 1991. She also became a certified teller through the American Institute of Banking. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
