Richard L. Nauer, CFP was chosen as one of Detroit's top wealth managers in 2010

Nauer, CFP, Senior Vice President of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC's Wealth Management Department, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in individual managed accounts.

A lifelong interest in finance along with a passion for the stock market and investing led Richard to his present position. He actively manages and oversees the portfolios of municipal bonds and stocks for individuals, business owners and small companies. A graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance, Mr. Nauer has been a Certified Financial Planner since 1985. He joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, LLC in 1981 and is a long-standing Morgan Stanley Smith Barney President's Council member. In 2010, he was named Hour Detroit Magazine's Top-Scoring Wealth Manager.

For over 20 years, Mr. Nauer has supported the South Oakland Shelter, a homeless shelter supported and operated by volunteers, and Focus: HOPE, a program providing food, friendship, and fellowship to elderly shut-ins. He maintains active affiliations with the Financial Planning Association, the Detroit Economic Club, the Investment Management Consultants Association, the Financial Planning Association of Michigan and the Bloomfield Hills Optimist Club.
