Melissa A. Preisler Honored for Excellence in Finance
At The Disney Music Group, Melissa A. Preisler gets to do what she loves most—make music

BURBANK, CA, May 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Melissa A. Preisler, Vice President of the Finance Department at The Disney Music Group, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in finance and operations management.

With a knack for numbers and a passion for music, Melissa A. Preisler could not have found a better professional fit than with the Finance Department of The Disney Music Group. Driven by her father, who she maintains "never wavered from his goals and [advised] her to do what she enjoyed," she has successfully attained an executive role in the music industry utilizing her expertise in human resources management and finance. As VP of Finance for The Disney Group, Ms. Preisler is charged with overseeing all finances for its five divisions, including three record labels, a publishing entity and a concert business. She manages 16 employees in the finance and A&R departments, develops annual operating plans and ensures that monthly forecasts are submitted to corporate. On the creative side of the business, she and her team ensure that producers, artists and recording studios are managed in accordance with the financial provisions of their respective contracts and that the production budget is maintained. Although she has held her post for five years, 2010 marks Ms. Preisler's 13th anniversary with The Walt Disney Company. In fact, she last worked as head of finance and operations at Disney Character Voices International, where she was responsible for foreign language dubbing and served as head of DVD manufacturing operations for the company's Worldwide Technical Services Division.

Ms. Preisler holds dual bachelor's degrees in accounting and French from St. Mary's College, earned in 1992. A certified public accountant, she will seek to continue in the music industry as she moves forward, in either a business strategy, life coaching or artist management capacity. In her free time, she enjoys being involved in industry forums, where she delivers presentations. She also likes skiing, attending live music shows, traveling and volunteering with the Meals on Wheels program with her two, soon to be three, children. Ms. Preisler has served on the Partners Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee for eight years and has received several internal Disney awards during her career.
