Gregory Speier founded the Acts of Human Kindness group on Facebook in 2009
PEEKSKILL, NY, June 07, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gregory Speier, Founder of the Acts of Human Kindness group on Facebook and former Financial Advisor and Banker with HSBC North America Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of his career.
A former Financial Advisor and Banker with HSBC, Gregory Speier is a recognized authority in management. During his tenure with the corporation, he was distinguished for his ability to bring public sector funding and corporate accounts to the bank in huge sums. His primary functions included contacting referred and new clients, as well as aiding tellers. Known for his intelligence and generous nature, he became an invaluable member of the HSBC team.
Today, he operates a humanitarian group through the social networking platform, Facebook. Started in 2009, Acts of Human Kindness was organized to encourage what Speier feels would be the revival of morals, values and manners in society in the hopes that people will be proactive not only globally but in their community by doing things such as volunteering to make their communities better and stronger, which in essence will make the world a better place to live in. As Speier puts it: "An act of kindness goes a long way," continuing, "A world of hope begins with you." The Facebook group currently has over 29,000 members and operates on the mission "To be kind and thoughtful to our fellow man by making a stranger's day a little happier...Do something nice and thoughtful; the gesture can be as simple as a hello."
In addition to his work with Human Kindness, Speier lends his skills to several philanthropic causes including organizations such as Keep Arts in Schools, A World without Breast Cancer, Allow God in School and Thank a Soldier. He credits his success in such endeavors to his good fortune and compassionate nature. Mr. Speier holds a bachelor of arts in mass communications and American history from Hunter College.
